When we were little we used to play a "license plate game" in the summer. All summer long we would look for the license plates from the provinces in Canada and the states in the US. We would mark them off and see if we could get all of them by the end of the summer. The top of Logan's Pass, main street in Waterton, and in front of the temple were always jackpot locations. I play this now with my kids and my parents still play along.
Click here for the link for the above map (if you click on the map part and print you won't get the whole thing) then you can print it out and start coloring it in. Some years I print one for each of our family members, some years I just print one for the family. Regardless, print, put in a duotang, and put in EACH vehicle (you wouldn't want to be unprepared for West Virginia!) There are many variations you can play with this game, but it is very interesting to see what ones you get. (We got Maryland in the mall parking lot in Kalispell). Happy hunting!

A symbol of Canadian identity
The official ceremony inaugurating the new Canadian flag was held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on February 15, 1965, with Governor General Georges Vanier, Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, the members of the Cabinet and thousands of Canadians in attendance. The Canadian Red Ensign, bearing the Union Jack and the shield of the royal arms of Canada, was lowered and then, on the stroke of noon, our new maple leaf flag was raised. The crowd sang the national anthem O Canada followed by the royal anthem God Save the Queen.
The following words, spoken on that momentous day by the Honourable Maurice Bourget, Speaker of the Senate, added further symbolic meaning to our flag:
"The flag is the symbol of the nation's unity, for it, beyond any doubt, represents all the citizens of Canada without distinction of race, language, belief or opinion." (Canadian Heritage website)
