We are introducing a new one-time Alberta Energy Rebate to help with the cost of groceries, fuel and other everyday essentials. Starting July 1, eligible Albertans can apply to get $100 through our secure online portal.

The rebate will replace the Fuel Tax Relief Program that would have taken effect on July 1. The rebate provides 50% more in savings per person than the average Albertan would have saved on fuel taxes over 3 months, while offering more choice and flexibility on how to spend it.

Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026.

Come Lift Your Voice with the 5th Ward Choir!

We’re gathering again to sing praises together, beginning Sunday, September 27th in the multipurpose room after church (12:30 pm.) Whether you’ve sung with us before or have been thinking about joining, we would love to welcome you!

We’ll begin with the new hymn “Speak to Us, Lord” (1069) and sing it in sacrament meeting on October 18. It’s a prayer asking the Lord to guide us through each part of the day.

We especially need alto and tenor voices this year, as most of our altos have moved away. Please come lift your voice with us…you don’t need choir experience.

We’ll rehearse again October 11 and before sacrament meeting on October 18. There will be no rehearsals October 4 or 25 because of conference. November 1st we will begin rehearsing for Christmas. ❤️

The video includes messages from Elder Gérald Caussé of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, his wife, Valérie, and the new Primary General Presidency, who were sustained during April general conference and begin serving on August 1: President Rosemary K. Chibota; Sister Nina M. Garfield, First Counselor; and Sister Theresa A. Collins, Second Counselor.

This content for children can be used at home or in Primary to help children better understand the importance of families and how they can strengthen theirs.

As part of their message for children, Elder and Sister Caussé will make crêpes. Those who would like to make their own crêpes as they watch the video can follow the recipe below:

Crêpes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 7 cups whole milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbs vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Butter for the pan
  • Toppings as desired

Directions

  1. Put the flour in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the milk one cup at a time, whisking well after each cup to gradually incorporate the flour, working from the center outward toward the sides of the bowl.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, then add the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Let the batter rest for about an hour.

Simple Craft

This episode will also include a simple craft that invites children to create a paper house and decorate it to illustrate meaningful activities they do with their families. The craft requires only paper and crayons, but children can decorate their paper house with stickers, items from nature, or other crafting supplies.
