Christmas Season of Preparation (and the glue gun!)
From Bishop Johnson - and my FAVORITE part of this is he printed these off, laminated them, and glued on magnets for you HIMSELF!!!! (Isn't that the most fun thing to think about!). If you didn't get one, your minister might luckily be bringing one by and you can imagine the bishop and the glue gun every time you look at it (and of course the good message and everything else you would certainly think of!)

Lethbridge Temple Location Announced
5 September 2023 - LETHBRIDGE, Alberta
Lethbridge Alberta Temple Site
This temple will be built on more than nine acres located at the corner of Whoop Up Drive West and Mauretania Road West, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Plans call for a multistory temple of approximately 45,000 square feet and an accompanying distribution center.
The Lethbridge Alberta Temple was first announced in April 2023 by Church President Russell M. Nelson. This will be the fourth house of the Lord in the province of Alberta and the 10th overall in Canada. Alberta is home to the first temple built in the country and just the sixth temple built by the Church of Jesus Christ. The Cardston Alberta Temple, which was dedicated one hundred years ago in August 1923 by previous Church President Heber J. Grant, is also the first temple constructed outside of the United States. The other eight temples in operation in Canada are found in the cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Regina, Toronto, Vancouver and Winnipeg.
In September 1830, the father and brother of Joseph Smith Jr., the first Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ, preached in several Canadian towns close to the United States border. Between 1830 and 1850, some 2,500 Canadians joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cardston, Alberta, was settled by Latter-day Saints in 1887. Today, Canada is home to more than 200,000 Latter-day Saints in over 490 congregations.

Presidency Message
The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to Let Go! We could all benefit by learning from this example. With summer ending, school starting and everyone getting back to regular schedules, September is like a new beginning. As we move forward, let’s take a look at the things in our lives that we’re hanging on to that might be holding us back and try to start Fall off without them. Things like hurt feelings or contention, vices or bad habits, negative thoughts about ourselves or others. This list could carry on, the important thing is for us to reflect, identify the things that we’re holding on to that are weighing us down and resolve to Let Go. Let us learn from the trees and remember, Letting Go Let’s Us Grow! Happy Fall, Sisters!!
Love Sister Kelsie Payne

Level 1 Water Water Rationing
NOTICE: Level 1 Water Rationing in Effect August 16, 2023

In response to low water levels in the St. Mary River and the Lee Creek, the Town of Cardston will be enacting water restrictions. Effective immediately, and according to bylaw #1637, Level 1 Water Rationing is in effect. Please note, that Level 1 is simply asking residents to be cautious and conservative with water use. We ask that you carefully consider the watering of lawns and gardens, and reduce water use where you can.
Also effective immediately, the Town will be stopping watering or slowing the watering of many of the parks and green spaces. Expect playgrounds and ball fields to be a little dryer than they have been this season.
While not decided yet, we may also close the spray park sometime next week for the season, or until conditions improve.
To summarize, Level 1 Water Rationing is now in place in the Town of Cardston and for all County users that are on Town water. This means that we simply ask everyone to be careful and conservative with water use.
If there is no rain in the future, then we will proceed to further steps with mandatory restrictions.
Please phone the Town office at 403-653-3366 if you have any questions.
