Good Afternoon 5th Ward,
I just want to make a couple corrections following sacrament meeting today. My hairline isn't receding. It's gone. Also, I've only been 40 for like 2 weeks so "in my 40s" is a stretch hehe. What a fun message from sister Evans today she's a great youth!
On to more serious matters. The church has asked all wards and branches worldwide to focus our 5th Sunday meetings on July 31 on missionary work and on the principles of Love, Share, and Invite. In preparation for our Sunday School discussions next Sunday that will be led by our ward mission, our ward council is inviting you to review a talk by Elder Stevenson. I will post the link below. Please review this talk as you are able this week and be prepared to share your thoughts and participate in a group discussion on this talk and topic. Thanks everyone, hope you are well!

Hooray to a few of our ward girls! What beautiful brides 💕
I came across a couple of quilty ladies from Lehi, Utah who have contacts in Poland & Ukraine and are helping refugees by sending quilts. They have teamed up with a shipping company, etc, etc, and are taking donations. So.... I'm sending some baby quilts to Lehi and they will take care of the rest.
Here's the website and their Instagram if you want to take a look. Honestly, sometimes, I am so thankful that other people know how to make things happen so I can help!

Effective June 30: All public health orders are lifted. See Step 3 for more information.
Public Health Orders remain in effect in Congregate Care facilities.
All mandatory public health restrictions were lifted on June 14 as the Omicron BA.2 wave subsides and COVID-19 hospitalizations continues to decline.
Work is underway to prepare for the fall and winter respiratory virus season. This includes maintaining surveillance and testing programs and preparing to expand acute care capacity for short-term surges.
Vaccines are fundamental to Alberta's ability to live with COVID-19. Albertans are encouraged to get every vaccine dose they are eligible for.
Feast on the Word - Quote of the Month
“… the Lord will bless you with miracles if you
believe in Him, ‘doubting nothing.’ Do the spiritual
work to seek miracles. Prayerfully ask God to help
you exercise that kind of faith. I promise that you can
experience for yourself that Jesus Christ ‘giveth
power to the faint’ and to them that have no might he
increaseth strength.’”
-President Russell M. Nelson
Presidency Message - Sis. Findlay
What do elephants, polio, and inspiration have in common? I will explain. One morning, while on
safari, we watched a giant bull elephant with enormous tusks that touched the ground walk out of the early
morning mist. Another time, we watched a polio survivor with crippled legs, wearing a suit and tie, crawl
into the Ghana temple to do ordinance work. Then there are the times when we receive inspiration, that
is so clear and strong, that we cannot possibly doubt that the Lord loves and knows us. These moments,
and so many others, have lifted and filled me with awe.
Researchers suggest that when we are fully immersed in experiencing awe, it switches on our brains
so that we engage more with our external world and less with ourselves. Elder Soares, in his latest
conference talk: “In Awe of Christ and His Gospel” reminds us of the promises the Father has prepared
for us: “The Kingdom is yours; the blessings thereof are yours and the riches of eternity are yours.” In
closing, Elder Soares prays “…that we will ever stand in awe of Jesus Christ and His complete, infinite,
and perfect love that heals and draws us closer to Him.”
