Ward Cookbook coming!

You know your favorite 4H cookbook? the Dorothy Secretan cookbook? the Deanna Hardy cookbook?  Well... we are going to make our own yummy 5th Ward Cookbook!  

Over the summer think of your favorite recipes to share - dessert, salad, main dish, casserole, soup, preserves, etc.  Also, if you have any special family recipes, we would like to do an "heirloom" section in the book.
 
   

Recipes due by September 15th

 

Please submit between 2-5 of your "tried and true - always a winner" recipes to Tonja at tonjadillon@hotmail.com or give Louise J. a paper copy.  Please include a comment or two about your recipe, like who you got it from, why you like it, why it means something to you, etc. - just something fun to read about it.

Watch your recipes be treasured for years and years by many 5th ward kids and their kids and their kids!




We are planning to have a tasters night in November to try out all the deliciousness and then have the book printed in December.

Congratulations to Rebecca who received top honors as the Best Artist Overall this year at the High School Art Show!

 

She is a well versed artist in many mediums.  She has beautiful drawings as well this sculpture which she did as her final project.

LDS Tools - The Directory

LDS Tools has lots of helpful sections.  The one we will look at today is the Directory.  This has current phone numbers and email addresses.  It is SO HELPFUL, and easy to access.  Here's what you do:
1.  Go to www.lds.org
2.  Click on "My Account and Ward" in the top right hand corner.

 3.  Click "Sign In" in the little blue box.

4.  Sign in.  If this is your first time - Click on the blue "Register for an LDS Account" under the green sign in button.  Follow the steps.  You will need your membership number.

5.  When you are logged in it will have your name under the My Account and Ward - this means you can access the Ward information.

6.  Click on My Account and Ward again (look at all those fun options - but stay focused, we are only looking at one of them right now :) ) Click on "Directory".

7.  Find yourself and click on your name.  Voila!  Isn't that fun - you can click on anyone's name in the ward and up comes their information!  Check your information to see that it is correct and update anything by pressing the "Edit" button on the right hand side above your last name.
