Dear 5th ward,
I’ve been so sad to hear of the hail storm in cardston and to see pictures of all the destruction. It is truly amazing (and devastating) how much destruction can happen in just moments. Brittany and I had not moved to cardston yet when the storm hit in 2012, but we remember seeing the pictures while on a trip to Utah that summer. I cant help but feel guilty being away on a bike trip while my family deals with the clean up at home. Guess I owe them one ;) Thanks to those who have checked in on them. Thanks to all of you ward members for checking on each other and lending a hand where it’s needed. While we never wish to see these types of events, it is always a blessing to see how it can bring people together out of concern and care for one another. The two greatest commandments are to love God, and love your neighbor. I admire the faith and dedication that exists in our ward in following these commandments. I pray for you all as you walk the path of clean up and damage assessment. Please be in touch with your ministers and ministering families so that we can understand further what help may be needed in the days ahead. Praying for blessings for you all.
with love,
Bishop Johnson
