Calgary Temple Dedication Times

Sunday October 28th is the Calgary temple dedication which will be broadcast to the Edmonton and Cardston temple districts.  This will replace our regular meeting schedule for that day.  8 years old and older may attend the dedication and need a ticket from the bishop in order to attend.  The dedication will be broadcast to the Stake Centre at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm (yes, these times are different than what is printed on your ticket.)  It will also be broadcast to Mt. View at 10:00am.  Bring a white handkerchief.

Sessions will be broadcast to all stakes and districts belonging to the Cardston Alberta Temple District and Edmonton Alberta Temple District, and Sunday block meetings will be cancelled for those units. Members ages 8 and older who have been issued a recommend may view the broadcast. Specific instructions for attendance will be made available through local priesthood leaders.

Summer Theatre

If you haven't been to the Carriage House Theatre to see a few of our ward members in the shows yet - you still have time.  Here's the link to the Carriage House Theatre where you can get the all the information about the shows and the calendar.  You'll know many of the cast in the shows, and you certainly won't be disappointed!  Here is my little review of some of our very own in their shows :)

Aislinn I. (Once Upon A Mattress)...Oh what an opinionated and spunky little queen she makes at the beginning of the show.  Watch her face closely for her great expression and characterization!

"I will test her thus,"  the old Queen said.

Talmage C. (Once Upon A Mattress)...You'll see hints of the older king as you watch this charming little king (left) parody his older partner.  Talmage and Aislinn share their roles with another king and queen on different nights, so if you want to see them be sure to call their parents for exact dates that they are on the stage.

Brock F.  (Once Upon A Mattress) - Brock makes a darling Dauntless the Drab as he waits for his princess to finally pass his Mamma's cunning test!  Watch for the twinkle in his eye as he and the princess dance.

Dalys F. (Once Upon A Mattress) - In this play, Dalys is a maiden, waiting, waiting, for the prince to get married so she can marry her own prince charming.  Here she is (right) with other maidens who have been entranced by the princess.

"Swamps of Home"

Mitchel F (Once Upon A Mattress) - In this play, Mitch (in red, right of the princess) is a knight in the kings royal court.  Watch for his reaction to the new princess!

Another Summer show - The Drowsy Chaperone - is directed by our extremely talented Sheila H.  Mitch and Dalys are supporting characters with several roles - reporters, servants, a superintendent, and yes, even a cloud. With Sheila's fine casting and detailed vision she made this witty script come to life - don't miss it!  See who you recognize in these outstanding numbers - and laugh again if you've already seen it!

"I Don't Want to Show Off No More!"

"Toledo Surprise"
