Memo: Future changes to Temple Schedule
Dear President,
In keeping with instructions from the temple department and the Brethrens’ efforts to standardize the temple experience across the globe we are announcing our intention to alter our current temple schedule. This schedule will create additional temple sessions and more opportunities for all ordinance work. It will also create many more opportunities for members to serve as ordinance workers.
The proposed schedule includes three shifts per weekday (approximately 3 to 4 hours in length) rather than the two we currently operate. This change creates 4 new mid-day shifts. Saturday will continue as two shifts.
At this point we are unable to commit to a start date. There are many organizational details that we must address first. These logistical details are, in part, the reason for this communication. To meet the requirements of this new schedule we will need many more temple workers. We are hoping to enlist your assistance in this matter. Please encourage and invite your members to prayerfully consider serving in the temple as ordinance workers. Please help them understand that they do not need to wait to be called by a priesthood leader, they are free to self-refer (you can let your Bishop know you want to serve). We estimate that we will need between 150 and 200 new workers. When we have sufficiently staffed all shifts, we will provide a start date for the new schedule.
We are so grateful for your constant support and for the very faithful members of your stake who are currently serving in the temple. Our prayer is that these changes will be a blessing to all who serve and worship in the Cardston Temple.
Yours faithfully,
President and Sister Bridge
