Good Morning 5th ward,
I hope you are all well and we, as a Bishopric, send you our love and concern. We have received a bit of direction from President Ferguson with regard to ongoing Covid adjustments. Over the past many months we have had permission from our area authority to administer the sacrament in our homes on a weekly basis. We have been directed that effective May 8, this permission will come to a close. As Bishop, I have been directed to give approval on an individual basis. If individuals or families feel that they cannot come to Sacrament meeting on Sundays, please contact me so that we can have that discussion and I can be aware of your needs and concerns. The Sacrament is an ordinance that allows us to renew the covenants that we made at baptism. When we make and keep covenants we bind ourselves to Christ and our lives are blessed as a result. Along with our Stake Presidency, we urge you to come to our meetings if you are able and participate in this sacred ordinance. Of course, if you feel you are unable, please make sure that I am aware so that arrangements can be made to support you if that is what is required.
Our meetings will continue to be broadcast using our same zoom link. We thank Brother Evans and Brother Widmer for their continued efforts in broadcasting our meetings for those that have been unable to join in person. It is likely that this broadcast will continue for at least a few more months. I know it has helped many of our members feel connected to the ward and for that I am grateful. Sometimes a little connection is all we need.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind you that online temple bookings is also continuing. This is was a change due to covid but it appears it may not be going anywhere anytime soon. If you have trouble booking online, please speak with Brother Joe Creed or Brother Jesse Dobson and we can support you in that effort. As an alternative, you may simply wish to call the temple to request a booking. As a ward, our plan is to attend the Temple on the second Tuesday of each month for the 6:00 session. We would love to see our ward members attending this session, but if that schedule doesn't work for you, we encourage you to attend as you are able.
Thank you for all of your efforts in our ward. My testimony and my faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened by being among the strong and faithful members of our ward. We love you and we pray for you.
